Course Cancellation Policy

All registration and course/module fees are due in full one calendar month prior to course start date. Students will not be admitted to class if payment has not been received and places will be allocated to people on waiting lists. Deposits and course fees paid for all courses, module, workshops and exams are non-refundable and non-transferable. Subject to availability, a course, module, workshop or exam date may be altered to a new date provided that there is a minimum of one calendar month notice – an administration fee of £20.00 + VAT will be charged for each course/module, workshop or examination date that is altered. Within a calendar month of a course, module or workshop date where courses/modules, exams and workshops have been paid in full refunds for cancellation will not be given under any circumstances. We advise students to contact their insurance broker to arrange suitable insurance cover for the financial loss in the event of you canceling your booking outside of our policy terms for refunds/transfers.

Payment Method

All applications for the STOTT PILATES courses must be accompanied by two letters of reference and a deposit of £287.50 (inc VAT) per course (non-refundable / nontransferable). This deposit fee will be held as payment for the exam, which must be taken within 6 months of the end of the course. Full course/module payment is required one calendar month before the course/module start date. If applying within the last calendar month applicants must pay both the course/module fee and the examination fee (where applicable) in full. A place will only be allocated upon receipt of application materials and deposit.

Active Training 2007/2008 Examinations Terms & Conditions

Active Training (a division of Pro Active Health Ltd) includes a fee for examinations – where appropriate – within the fees for any STOTT PILATES course. The company is not prepared to accept any student application for a course with the company without the student expecting to complete both the course and certification.

NB: These 2007/2008 Terms and Conditions replace all previous Examination Terms and Conditions.

2007/2008 Exam Fees

In 2007 the exam charge for Active Training students booking an examination at the same time as a course or paying for an examination for courses which have all been completed with Active Training is £250.00 + VAT (£287.50). In 2007 the exam charges made by Active Training for Students who are examining for a course or courses which have not been taken with Active Training or previously Active Pilates in the UK will depend upon the scheduled duration of the practical examination as shown in the list of exam fees above.

A STOTT PILATES examination is the same examination whether taken with Active Training in the UK or at any of the 40+ Licensed Training Centers Worldwide. The charge made by any Licensed Facility for examinations varies according to local decisions. Should a student who has paid for an examination with Active Training in the UK choose to certify at an alternative Licensed Center – Active Training will pay the published exam fee directly to the alternative Examination Center once the examination has been taken.

Taking Examinations for Multiple Courses

Students wishing to use a single examination to certify in more than one STOTT PILATES discipline will need to pay the examination fee within the course costs for the first course booked with the company and then may carry forward the examination fee for a maximum of 2 years from the date that this first course finishes: - provided:

a) The Student advises the company at the time of booking subsequent courses that a single examination will be taken for the multiple courses booked.
b) That a scheduled examination for the first course has not been cancelled, taken and failed or not attended – prior to full payment being received for the subsequent course.

Refunds for Examinations not taken

There is no occasion where a pre-paid examination fee will be refunded to a student - this is to ensure that a student has no financial reason not to certify in a course attended which ensures that the STOTT PILATES brand in the UK is supported by certified instructors of the highest quality.

Exam Booking Procedures

Examination fees are taken at the time of course bookings. We have set days when we can examine students – to book an examination date students will be required to contact the Active Training office on 0800 434 6110 or email at info@activetraining.info

Cancellation of Examinations and No Shows

Examinations are not easy to rebook at short notice due to the preparation time students seek between booking and taking their examination. Active Training also organizes ‘bodies’ to be used during the examination and these ‘bodies’ can be seriously putout if examinations are cancelled with short notice. For this reason Active Training requires a minimum 30 day notice to change the date or time of examinations that have been previously booked.

Within the 30 day period there is no refund. However, students who within the 30 day no cancellation period who are feeling unprepared for their full examination are encouraged to change their Examination to a ‘Mock Examination’. In this way the ‘body’ is not affected and the student can gain an insight into the additional preparation needed. Students choosing to change an examination to a mock examination at any time will be required to pay at the time of advising us of the change, £90.00 (inc. VAT) for a 1.5 hour practical examination and £120.00 (inc. VAT) for a 2 hour examination. At the same time a new date for the examination will be set within a period of 3 months from the old date.

A student can change an examination date with more than 30 days notice on payment of an administration charge. A student who fails to attend an examination without giving 48 hours notice will not only loose their examination fee but also be responsible for any extra out of pocket expenses for the ‘body’ – should these exceed £130.00 + VAT. A student who gives more than 48 hours notice but less than 30 days notice will loose their full examination fee and be required to rebook their examination prior to any further course or workshop bookings with the company being permitted.
