Crossover from Intensive Mat-Plus to Group Matwork

Enhance your group instruction skills enabling you to teach group matwork safely while keeping classes upbeat and motivating. Learn to conduct an orientation class designed specifically for clients entering group matwork classes. Instructors will leave with ten pre- designed Essential through Intermediate workouts ready to teach in a group environment. These incorporate small equipment (Flex-Band exercisers, Fitness Circle resistance rings and Toning Balls and cover a variety of intensity levels.

Prerequisites: This course is designed for instructors who have completed our Intensive or Enhanced Mat-Plus training.

STOTT PILATES® Mini Flex-Ball™ Workout

This energizing workout incorporates the 12-inch mini flex ball to create total-body strengthening and conditioning. The exercises will work on improving posture with a major focus on core stability and back mobility while also lengthening and strengthening the surrounding muscles. Keeping in mind the elements of the STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles, participants will learn how to add variety and fun to traditional matwork routines.

Postural Analysis Review

Perfect for those preparing for their exams! This hands on workshop will outline the importance of postural analysis in programming STOTT PILATES workouts. Differences between static and dynamic posture will be considered and discussed. Postural theory will be reviewed and postural analysis practiced.

Program Design Workshop

This lecture/workshop is designed to give instructors new tools to help improve programming skills regardless of their level of training. Participants will learn components of programming including information gathering, identifying areas of strength and weakness as well as modifications. Discussions will focus on exercise programming based on movement assessment and client goals.

STOTT PILATES® Post-Natal Pilates

Most women will be able to return to exercise 4-6 weeks after a regular birth or when they get clearance from their physician. Many of the exercises they may have been performing during the second and third trimester of pregnancy will be suitable now, but other exercises can be added to focus on reactivating and stabilizing the pelvic floor, transverses abdominis and obliques as well as developing lumbo-pelvic stability. This gentle but effective workout will incorporate 2 lb Toning balls to get moms back on the right track.

STOTT PILATES® Arc Barrel

This workshop interactively teaches participants select exercises from the STOTT PILATES Essential Matwork repertoire incorporating the Arc Barrel for support, challenge and variety. Participants will learn how the barrel may be used to support the spine in flexion, lateral flexion or extension, to target core and peripheral muscle groups, and to adapt exercises to specific body types. Cues and corrections for safety and effectiveness are also covered.
